Fischer Farms attracts strong commercial interest ahead of world’s largest vertical farm launch

Vertical Farming leader, Fischer Farms, has enjoyed a strong start to 2022 with significant commercial interest in its trailblazing approach to sustainable and responsible farming.

The business has been inundated with enquiries from retailers and food chain suppliers, ahead of its second site launch later this year, which is set to become the world’s largest vertical farm, with the growing space to provide 6.5 tonnes of leaf salads and herbs to UK supermarkets every day.

This success follows a major investment in its board of directors, including the appointment of renowned food innovator, John Stapleton as Non-Executive Chairman. Having led the way in the sector for almost 35-years, John has been instrumental in introducing Fischer Farms to key market prospects.

With a strong track record of creating and growing successful food and drink brands (e.g. New Covent Garden Soup Co; Little Dish), John is working closely with Tristan Fischer, founder and CEO of Fischer Farms, and his highly-skilled team, to scale-up operations. This has commenced with the production of short leafy green salad products and will soon expand into soft berries, other fruits, vegetables and ultimately staples such as rice, soya beans and wheat, all grown at a price point that compares favourably to current farming prices.

John said:

"Sitting at the cutting edge of vertical farming, we have invested in the very latest technology and techniques, from LED lighting to 100% renewable energy sources. Today, we are poised for significant growth, with the launch of our large-scale revolutionary vertical farm set to open in Norfolk later this year. The potential of this pioneering site, combined with our proven track record and strong financial backing, has positioned Fischer Farms as a key player in the fresh produce sector.

Together with our talented team of experts across all areas of the business, we are setting the standard in vertical farming and leading the industry towards a more sustainable way of producing fresh food, grown right here in the UK. Fischer Farms is playing its part in providing for post-Brexit food security, reducing our reliance on food imports, especially during winter/ spring months. It is fantastic to see manufacturers, retailers, distributors and investors recognising the potential of vertical farming and we look forward to sharing further partnership news in the coming months.”
