Fischer Farms bolsters team ahead of world’s largest vertical farm launch

Vertical farming pioneers, Fischer Farms, is bringing 27 new jobs to the Norfolk area, as the firm gears up to open the doors to the world’s largest vertical farm..

Construction on the 25,000m2 vertical farm is now complete and the office facility is fully operational. With just a few months until the doors officially open, Fischer Farms has recently welcomed nine new team members to the site, bolstering its senior management, technical and operational teams.

In the coming months, Fischer Farms is looking to take on 18 additional recruits, providing the opportunity to be part of the cutting edge of AgroScience. The right candidates will share Fischer Farms’ vision of creating a resilient and sustainable fresh food supply chain.

The four-acre site will have the capacity to supply 6.5 tonnes – that’s 72,000 bags – of leaf salad, lettuce, leafy herbs and other fresh produce to UK supermarkets every day, all year round. When fully operational, the vertical farm will be powered by 100% renewable energy and will use significantly less water than traditional cultivation methods, paving the way for a scalable and more sustainable food production industry.

Tristan Fischer, Founder and CEO of Fischer Farms, said: “It’s a really exciting time for Fischer Farms, as we prepare to open the doors to the world’s largest vertical farm. We are growing our highly skilled team in the coming months, which presents a fantastic opportunity for those who share our ambition of creating a resilient and scalable food production supply chain to join something really transformational.

“I am delighted to welcome our newest team members to the business. They will each play a vital role in the coming months, as we take over the building, begin our fit-out process, and seed our first tunnels.”
